24 | ACTON-BOXBOROUGH REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT | ANNUAL REPORT 2025–2026

HIGHLIGHTS The 2025-2026 academic year at McCarthy-Towne was defined by our vibrant community of learners, where children, educators, and families collaborated to foster individual growth and success. Our community, along with the entire A-B community, navigated: Community • Monthly assemblies provided a platform for each grade level to showcase their academic and artistic achievements. • Our 5th graders piloted a trip to Hale Education, focusing on team-building, community, and personal independence. • The PTSO hosted our second annual McT Fun Day, featuring outdoor games facilitated by 100 dedicated family volunteers. • Thanks to a grant secured by Peter Knowles, we hosted a “Be Fit” assembly in collaboration with the Boston Bruins. Additionally, the school was awarded a significant grant for new fitness equipment. • We proudly hosted McCarthy-Towne’s final art show to celebrate the closing of our beloved school. It was an honor to share this occasion with former staff, students, and leaders, reflecting on the profound impact the school has had over the past 50 years.
