RBKC - Senior Project Manager

The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea Council Capital Projects Team is seeking to make the key appointment of an ambitious Project Manager who is seeking to progress their career in a varied and challenging client-side project management role. Reporting to the Capital Programme Manager, the Senior Project Manager will play a key role in the delivery of the Council’s capital programme across its diverse portfolio of properties. You will personally manage a diverse caseload of projects from the programme including education, commercial, municipal, community, leisure, recreation, residential and regeneration schemes. Projects will include refurbishment, redevelopment and new-build schemes typically in the £1m to £10m value range and there will be the opportunity to gain experience on major capital projects valued in excess of £10m.

The existing capital programme is valued at over £100m and current projects include: • Chelsea Old Town Hall Refurbishment: preserving the beauty and significance of a local landmark • Belvedere Restaurant in Holland Park refurbishment • Colville Primary School expansion • Barlby new Primary School and SEN School • Adult Social Care Hub • Leighton House Museum improvements (feasibility study) The successful candidate will have experience of managing a range of projects and project packages from inception to completion. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be proactive, flexible and keen to learn and progress your career in project management. It is essential that the appointed candidate is able to prioritise activities and manage a number of projects concurrently. Experience of managing projects in the commercial, education, public buildings and/or residential sectors would be advantageous but is not essential.
