OUR CIRCULAR DESIGN RULES ARE BASED ON THREE PILLARS
Circular Sourcing creates transparency in the “circular economy”. The “quality” of materials is ensured by system atically querying suppliers about recycled content, recyclability and, if applicable, environmen tally critical substances. This results in a comprehensive data pool, which, for example, allows for the determination of recycled content at the product level.
Circular Services shapes the transition to the next cycle through processes, business models and offerings to extend service life. For Zumtobel, the focus is on maintenance and modernisation, as well as remanufacturing. Spare parts, retrofit kits and so-called refurbishment kits are offered to extend product life.
Circular Design integrates circular principles into product development from the very beginning. Design teams focus on key issues such as ease of disassembly, durability and availability of spare parts. A well-thought-out design enables later modernisation, reuse or effective recycling.
