We provide Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in accordance with the ISO 14025 standard for our luminaires throughout their life cycle, including materials, manufacturing, transportation, use and disposal. By transparently communicating the environmental impact of our products, we enable our customers to make informed and sustainable decisions and have been able to successfully support sustainable construction projects and green building certifications worldwide. OUR CIRCULAR DESIGN RULES ARE BASED ON THREE PILLARS
Circular Sourcing creates transparency in the “circular economy”. The “quality” of materials is ensured by system atically querying suppliers about recycled content, recyclability and, if applicable, environmen tally critical substances. This results in a comprehensive data pool, which, for example, allows for the determination of recycled content at the product level.
Circular Services shapes the transition to the next cycle through processes, business models and offerings to extend service life. For Zumtobel, the focus is on maintenance and modernisation, as well as remanufacturing. Spare parts, retrofit kits and so-called refurbishment kits are offered to extend product life.
Circular Design integrates circular principles into product development from the very beginning. Design teams focus on key issues such as ease of disassembly, durability and availability of spare parts. A well-thought-out design enables later modernisation, reuse or effective recycling.

The ZX continuous-row lighting system uses Zumtobel trunking (ZT) or Zumtobel trunking high (ZTH) as the basis on which ZX luminaires are mounted. From 2007 onwards, both the trunking and the luminaires were brought together under the name ZX2 as a system with new through-wiring. In order to continue using existing ZX/ZX2 continuous rooflights efficiently, Zumtobel offers the ZX/ZX2 renovation beams: a simple 1:1 solution for the replacement of T16 58W luminaires. This allows existing installations to be modernised and adapted to the state of the art without intervention in the DIN rail.
