Light is indispensable in mu seums – and at the same time a risk factor. UV and infrared radiation, high illuminance levels, and long periods of exposure can irreversibly damage organic materials such as paper, textiles or paintings. Colours fade, fibres become brittle, and surfaces change permanently. The decisive factor is therefore a sensitive lighting concept: reduced lux values, targeted accentuation, filter technology and intelligent controls minimise the burden.
Light makes museums truly inclusive: with glare-free, high-contrast and easy-to-read illumination, content becomes accessible to people with different viewing habits. Clear lighting creates orientation, reduces barriers and strengthens the feeling of safety.
