Peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Sunday June 4, 2017, at the age of 91. Eldest daughter of the late Philip Conway & Nellie Allison. Beloved wife of the late Norman G. Baker. Loving step-grandmother of Melissa & Peter Djurickovich and their children, Michael & Sarah, of Sydney, Australia. Dear sister of Kathleen Tittley (Emmanuel), Michael & Micheline Conway and sister-in-law of Grace Conway. Predeceased by her siblings: Brian & his wife, Jacqueline, Anne Cadieux, Helen Conway, Allison Conway, Donald Conway and by her sister-in-law, Dorothy (Baker) Hopkinson. She will be sadly missed by her 13 nieces & nephews and many great-nieces & nephews. Phyllis was a nurse for 25 years, having graduated from the University of Ottawa & Ottawa General Hospital School of Nursing, in 1947. After her retirement, Phyllis became a very active member of the community. Family and friends are welcome to the NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53, Division St., BOWMANVILLE, for visitation on Friday, June 9 th , from 6-8 p.m. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. JOSEPH’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, on Saturday, June 10 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lakeridge Health Foundation – Cancer Care, the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a Charity of your Choice.
