Theme: The Gospel in Miniature. T ext : “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not per­ ish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). I ntroduction : Here are at least seven great truths, almost identical with those of Isaiah 45:22. I. The greatest of gifts. God gave His only begotten Son. II. The greatest of numbers. “The world.” “Whosoever.” III. The greatest of blessings. “Everlasting life.” IV. The greatest of deliverances. “Might not perish.” V. The greatest motive. “God so loved,” VI. The greatest security. “God.” VII. The greatest simplicity. “Whosoever believeth.” —A. T. P. Theme: Justification: Its Privileges and Results. T ext : Romans v:l-5. iNThODUCTION : I. Peace with God. The peace of reconciled relations. II. A new standing before God. Permanent acceptance. III. A new access to God. By faith with freedom. The Right Side “Who is on my side—who?” (l Kings 9:32). There is a wrong side. A choice to be made. Jesus needs friends to be on His side. We cannot take the side of Jesus too soon. If we take Jesus’ side, He will take ours.
