Megan Bowman stands out in Ireland with four medals

Another local athlete to stand out during her visit toDublin last month, Megan Bow- man returned with several newmedals in addition to those she already had. Now that she is home, she is back to training, teaching and getting ready forWorlds 2017 in Orlando! Thanks to bottle drives, trivia nights and several booths, she was able to raise enough money to go overseas and compete: “Our community has been amazing!” said Elizabeth Bowman, “Thank you to Douvris Martial Arts, The Kin Club of Russell, The Metcalfe Farmers Market, all of Embrun, Russell, and Metcalfe for all your support!” In her last trip to Ireland, Megan Bowman earned Korean kata gold, freestyle kata silver, Chinese kata silver, hardstyle kata silver, classical kata silver, Traditional bo 4th, and Creative Bo 4th. Les Hawks attaquent les Vikings

Bowman said that karate has not only of- fered her the opportunities to compete and travel, but the discipline has given her more leadership skills and confidence.»

En effet, Tyler Somers et Yannick Dicaire ont tous deux trouvé le fond du filet lors de la première période. Mais les Flyers ont répondu lors de la deuxième période, alors que Devan Miller a compté. L’offensive des Vikings a ensuite pEUDQOp les Flyers, marquant trois buts consécutifs de la part de EthanWensick et de KyleMillet. Les Vikings ont donc remporté lematch 5 à 1. Ils feront face aux Aeros d’Athens le 1 er décembre et aux Glens d’Alexandria le 3 décembre prochain.

Les Vikings de Casselman ont remporté un de leurs deux derniers matchs la semaine dernière. Ceux-ci accueillaient les Hawks de Win- chester le 24 novembre. Ce sont les Hawks qui ont marqué les premiers, lorsque Franco Gagnon a déjoué le gardien de Casselman, Seth Carter.
