I prefer neutrality and confidentiality outside my workplace. b) Somewhat important. They need to be respected in the industry, but they don’t need power over my specific job. c) Important. They need to understand the hierarchy, but they don't necessarily need to be at the top of it. d) Critical. They must be in a position of power to influence the advancement of my career.
6. What is the scope of your current challenge? a) It is personal and internal (e.g., “Do I even want this career?”).
b) It is developmental (e.g., “How do I become a better leader over the next 2 years?”). c) It is navigational (e.g., “How do I handle this specific project or difficult boss?”). d) It is transactional and immediate (e.g., “I need to secure this specific assignment or promotion right now”). 7. How do you view the “relationship” aspect? a) It needs to be a confidential, non-judgmental space for me to be vulnerable. b) It should be a two-way street; a friendly professional bond where we share and learn. c) It is practical; I need information transfer about how things work here. d) The most important relationship is actually between them and the other decision-makers, not necessarily between them and me.
