Hydro-Québec est prête à se départir de terrains dont elle est propriétaire, de part et d’autre de la rivière à Grenville-sur-la-Rouge. La MRC d’Argenteuil et la Municipalité de Grenville-sur-la-Rouge souhaiteraient bien conserver et mettre en valeur ces terres d’une superficie de 4,7 km 2 , mais pas à n’importe quel prix.
« La question qu’on se pose est ‘serait- il possible que ces terres demeurent de propriété publique, sans pour autant que le pallier municipal ait à investir des sommes d’argent importantes?’ », a indiqué le direc- teur général de la MRC d’Argenteuil, Marc Carrière, en entrevue à notre journal. BAIL AVEC HAWKESBURY TOYOTA La Ville de Hawkesbury a renouvelé un bail avec Hawkesbury Toyota pour une durée de cinq ans pour l’utilisation de l’emprise de la rue Tupper pour le stationnement de véhicules. Ce bail, qui est en vigueur depuis 2013, a représenté une somme annuelle de 1408,25 $ en 2018, soit 0.7982 $ le pied carré et augmentera à chaque année selon l’indice à la consommation. Hawkes- bury Toyota a été le premier à conclure un bail avec la Ville. LEARN MORE ABOUT CANNABIS The Eastern Ontario Health Unit (EOHU) is inviting members of the community to attend a forum about the new Cannabis Act, coming into effect October 17. The forum consists of a presentation by the EOHU, a community partner panel, as well as a question and answer period. Topics discussed will include general cannabis information, effects on physical and mental health, regional statistics on cannabis use, legalization information as well as recom- mendations on how to discuss the matter with children. La proximité des parcs nationaux de Plai- sance, d’Oka et de Mont-Tremblant pourrait se présenter comme un avantage pour des partenariats, par exemple. D’autant que l’offre d’activité de la rivière Rouge n’entre pas en compétition avec celle des autres parcs. Et sa situation géographique est aussi enviable que les autres, ayant accès à un bassin de population de près de 5,5 millions de personnes entre la région métropolitaine de Montréal et la région d’Ottawa-Gatineau. Selon la résolution de la MRC d’Argen- teuil, des terres municipales à Grenville-sur- la-Rouge et d’autres terrains appartenant à Hydro-Québec à Harrington pourraient se greffer au projet de parc national. &/#3&'r#3*&'4 pas ses terrains pour rien, mais plutôt à la valeur marchande de ceux-ci, laquelle M. Carrière n’a pas voulu dévoiler en raison d’une entente de confidentialité. Ainsi, à l’unanimité, les maires de la MRC ont adopté récemment une résolu- tion visant à bâtir un dossier argumentaire pour convaincre le gouvernement du Québec d’acheter les terres et d’y attribuer le statut de parc national. « On pense qu’on a un dossier vendeur pour le gouvernement du Québec », a déclaré M. Carrière.

Ontario Power Generation Inc. has applied to recover certain account balances and to raise its payment amounts. Learn more. Have your say. Ontario Power Generation Inc. has applied to the Ontario Energy Board for approval to recover, over a three-year period, the 2017 year-end balances in certain deferral and variance accounts related to its nuclear generating facilities and most of its hydroelectric generating facilities beginning on January 1, 2019. Ontario Power Generation Inc. has also applied to increase the amount it charges for the output of most of its hydroelectric generating facilities for 2019 using an Ontario Energy Board-approved formula that is tied to inflation and other factors intended to promote efficiency. If the application is approved as filed, Ontario Power Generation Inc. has calculated that the monthly bill for a typical residential customer would increase by $1.39 in 2019 and by $0.06 in 2020, and decrease by $0.29 in 2021. These amounts do not reflect any impact of the Fair Hydro Plan. Other customers, including businesses, will also be affected. The balances in some deferral and variance accounts will continue to be recovered in future years but the recovery mechanism will be determined in a future proceeding. THE ONTARIO ENERGY BOARD WILL HOLD A PUBLIC HEARING The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) will hold a public hearing to consider Ontario Power Generation Inc.’s request. We will determine whether the company has used the applicable formulas required by the OEB and whether to approve Ontario Power Generation Inc.’s request to recover the balances in the deferral and variance accounts. We will also hear questions and arguments from individuals and groups that represent consumers of electricity. At the end of this hearing, the OEB will decide what, if any, increase will be allowed. The OEB is an independent and impartial public agency. We make decisions that serve the public interest. Our goal is to promote a financially viable and efficient energy sector that provides you with reliable energy services at a reasonable cost.
