I am pleased to announce the appointment of Carrissa (Carrie) Brooks as General Manager of Marco Island Yacht Club. Most of our members know Carrie. She joined the Club in March 2021 as a Project Manager for our Northstar Systems installation. In November of 2021, we promoted Carrie to the position of Dining Room Manager. And in March of 2022 we promoted her to Food & Beverage Director and Interim General Manager. Carrie assumes the position of General Manager as of August 1, 2022. Although many of you know Carrie, you may not be familiar with her background and experience. Prior to joining Marco Island Yacht Club, Carrie

was the Food & Beverage Manager at Plantation Golf & Country Club in Fort Myers. In that role, she assisted the Club Manager in the daily management of the facility as well as managed the food & beverage staff. Prior to the Plantation, Carrie worked in the food and beverage function at Stock Development Company in Fort Myers and Naples. Her role in our Northstar System transition provided substantial insight to the Club's operations and finances. She worked closely with various committees to help set up accounting, food & beverage, retail, and marina modules in Northstar. Upon assuming the Dining Manager position, she began implementing improvements in the operation, including staff training on the new system. She also worked closely with the committees involved with the Ship's Store and Member Events as well as improved our food and beverage inventory process. Upon the previous General Manager's resignation, we formed a Search Committee to identify and evaluate candidates for the position. The Committee evaluated several candidates that were identified from members and staff and from our search partner, Gecko Hospitality. The Committee narrowed the candidate pool to two outside candidates and Carrie. The two outside candidates were well qualified with considerable experience. Carrie distinguished herself in the interview process. She was poised, exhibited confidence, and demonstrated a broad view of the job based on her background and experience. The Search Committee concluded its work with the recommendation to promote Carrie to the General Manager position. Having worked closely with Carrie over the past two years, I know that her experience, passion for our Club and strong operations background will be beneficial for MIYC. In addition, Carrie's leadership style and engagement with our staff and membership will help the Club on our journey to exceptional member experience. Please join me in congratulating Carrie on her new position. I know that she will appreciate your support as she assumes her new responsibilities. Dave Resuming Dates for Boaters Night and Sunset Cruises • Boaters Night will resume on November 9. • Sunset Cruises resume on October 26. • There is also a Sunset Cruise on November 30.
