Summary of the Week: This week, students will examine migration and explore why people move from one place to another and settle in a new place. Essential Question: Why do people move from one place to another? Learning Objectives: ● Students will learn about migration. ● Students will be able to explain the different factors that cause people to migrate from one place to another. “I Can” Statement: I can explain human migration and the different factors that affect movement. Student Edition Vocabulary and Phrases: migration: the movement of people, ideas, and goods from one place to another push factors: reasons people move away from a place pull factors: reasons that encourage people to move to a place Language for Social Studies Learning: Language for Social Studies Learning includes any unbolded terms and phrases in the student edition and the teacher edition that enable student understanding.
