Les Vikings terminent 2017 avec une victoire ! Toutefois, cinqminutes plus tard, Carter Malette s’imposait de nouveau enmarquant son troisième but du match, assisté une fois de plus par Brady Cloutier et par Ethan Wensink. Lematch s’est terminé avec un but dans un filet ouvert compté par Sébastien Plante assisté de Joel Hunt.

Les Vikings de Casselman ont joué un match serré contre les Blue Wings de Perth lors de leur dernier affrontement de l’année 2017. Mais ceux-ci en sont sortis vainqueurs avec la marque de 4 à 2. Lors de cematch disputé le 21 décembre dernier au Complexe JR Brisson, les deux équipes ont connu une première période serrée. Les Vikings sont les seuls à avoir réussi à trouver le fond du filet lors de ce premier vingt, avec un tir de Malette. L’équipe était alors en situation de supériorité numérique. La tension est montée en fin de période et les joueurs Tyler Murphy (Wings) et Andrew Black (Vikings) ont laissé tomber leurs gants, ce qui leur a valu, à chacun, deux pénalités. Encore une fois, en deuxième période, la seule équipe à avoir compté un but est celle de Casselman, et ce, à trois minutes de la fin. Carter Malette était une fois de plus l’auteur du but, mais cette fois aidé de Brady Cloutier et d’Ethan Wensink. Puis, vers la moitié du dernier vingt, les Wings ont à leur tour réussi à déjouer le gar- dien de l’équipe adverse, Nicholas Campbell, deux fois plutôt qu’une. Shane Carroll ainsi que Dylan Sharpley sont les auteurs de ces deux buts.
C’est le 3 janvier que les Vikings dispu- teront leur premier match en 2018 alors qu’ils joueront contre les Tikis à Brockville. Le match suivant se tiendra le 6 janvier, cette fois à domicile et contre les Rideaus de Westport.

THE STUDY The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario (MTO) has retained Ainley Group to provide detail design services for Highway 417 reconstruction, both eastbound and westbound lanes, from approximately 1.2 km east of the County Road 7 interchange (Casselman) to approximately 0.8 km west of the County Road 30 interchange (Dunvegan). Also included in the work is the detailed design for the rehabilitation or replacement of structural culverts, within MTO right-of-way, along the Leo Denis Municipal Drain (County Road 7) and at the Moose Creek/Moose Creek Lower Municipal Drain culvert on Highway 417. The study area is shown in the key map below.
Embrun Skating Club ends 2017 in style
THE PROCESS The project is following an approved planning process for a Group ‘B’ undertaking in accordance with the Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000). The study will include an assessment of potential impacts from the undertaking on the study area environment. An on-line Public Information Centre (PIC) will be available to provide members of the public with an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed reconstruction. The on-line PIC will occur in the spring of 2018, to provide additional avenues to participate in the project, view the PIC materials, and provide comments. Information regarding the on-line PIC will be published in local newspapers prior to the event. A website has been established to provide details of the project and to post reports/notices for public review. The website may be viewed by accessing the following website link: www.Hwy417Casselman-Dunvegan.ca. You will also be able to provide comments directly on-line if you wish and an e-mail response will be provided if requested. Upon completion of the study, a Transportation Environmental Study Report (TESR) will be prepared and will be made available for a 30-day public and agency review period. Notification of submission of the TESR for review will be published in local newspapers prior to commencement of the review period. Comments and information regarding this study are being collected to assist in meeting the requirements of the Environmental Assessment Act. These comments will be maintained on file for use during the study in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. All comments, with the exception of personal information, will become part of the Interested persons are invited to provide comments regarding the above-noted project. The Embrun Skating Club presented its Holiday Show at the Palais des Sports in Embrun on Sunday, December 31. Here, we can recognize the 15 skaters from the Junior, Intermediate and Senior groups of the STAR program, who were on the ice for the occasion.They presented several of their routines during the event and some skaters will be showing off these moves in upcoming competitions. —submitted photo
