ESSENTIAL
ADVANTAGEOUS
A mechanical building services based first degree General management qualifications / CPD courses attended. Membership of a relevant institute with chartered status Extensive experience of installation and maintenance of building services systems. Project management experience including the supervision and co-ordination of external consultants. Knowledge of Information Technology Systems and how these integrate with building services systems.
BTEC HNC or equivalent qualifying experience.
Education/ Qualifications
Experience (Paid and Unpaid)
Extensive design experience in mechanical building services.
Extensive project and contract related experience on a wide range of schemes. Experience of working to, and meeting, challenging budgets and programmes. Use of Building Management Systems.
Flexible approach to solving construction related problems. Have a good understanding of the Client/ Consultant liaison process. The ability to work effectively in multi- disciplinary teams. The ability to prioritise work and make decisions. An appreciation of IT and its potential uses in construction. Sufficiently PC literate to produce reports, having knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications. An in-depth knowledge of the stages in the design and construction of projects.
Job-related Skills / Aptitudes
Working knowledge of health and safety legislation and practice. Ability to work on CAD/Revit. Ability to work on Microsoft Project.
Excellent communication skills with both colleagues and clients. Courteous, self-motivated and able to work within a team.
Interpersonal Skills
Prepared to travel to other locations within the Coventry University Group.
