Review what was learned in the previous lesson about timelines. Discuss the timeline on the front cover of the student edition. 2. Have students work in pairs and discuss the following questions. Share as a class. a. What is a timeline? b. What does the timeline on the front cover show? 3. Have the students locate the title of the article and read it with their partner. 4. Give the students the opportunity to share their baby pictures. Have each student show their picture to their partner and/or the class. After they share, discuss the change that has happened over time. a. How have you changed since you were a baby? (Answers may vary.) b. Do you look the same as you did? (Answers may vary.) c. Can you do the same things? (Answers may vary.) 5. Read the first section of the article as the students follow along. Discuss the article as a class. a. Have a discussion about how the students have changed over time. They were babies in the past. Their picture shows how much they have changed over time. They will continue changing and become teenagers and adults in the future.
