about the Light of Life else they will continue to sit helplessly in the dark. Our message about the Lord Jesus brings light to the heathen and to the civilized peoples. The People Must Have Our Message. Rom. 19:17 Only the Christian can take the proper message to the lost. Doctors and nurses bring physical relief, but unless Christ is preached, the unsaved are left with healthy bodies and dead souls. Educa tional processes are excellent, but we may teach the heathen a written language, mathematics, science, housekeeping, et cetera, and leave his soul in the grip of Satan. The unsaved must have the message of God’s good gospel concern ing the Lord Jesus else they will remain healthy, educated, lost sinners. We Must Use Bait. Isa. 1:18 There is logic in the gospel. It appeals to the reason. This precious message must be wisely given. It must be sur rounded with the proper arguments and reasons which will appeal to the human heart and mind. The soul winner ne.eds to know how to bait the hook to attract the fish he wants. The fish will “ bite” if the Word is presented properly. The Lord enable us to diagnose the need of the people, find the right remedy for their special need, and then go to them with it. You May Give. 2 Cor. 9:6 New Testament giving is on a higher plane than giving under the law. It partakes of the character seen in the relationship between husband and wife. In the Old Testament, Israel had to give forty-two and one-half per cent of their possessions and goods and twenty-seven per cent of their time. God would not have the one without the other. He pun ished them if they withheld either por tion. God promised to reimburse them many fold so there could be no possible loss. Now in our day we may give our selves and all that we are and have to Him. This brings untold blessing and peace in the soul. You May Pray. 1 Tim. 2:1 By prayer we make known to God our interest in His work. Little praying shows little interest. Much praying shows much interest. By prayer the needs of the people come more vividly before us. By prayer God’s provisions are mag nified before us. By prayer we become partners with our blessed Lord in the

Each Christian who reads this state ment is a living testimony to the power of missions. Every person is led to Christ by some one. Some Christian worker at some measure of sacrifice brought the message to you and led you to the Saviour. For this reason every Christian should be deeply interested in seeing that the message of life is carried to those who are dead in their sins. This constitutes “missions.” Let us double our efforts to send the message far and near. God Commands Us to Go. Mark 16:15 The gospel message cannot be under stood by the things we see in nature. In nature we see God’s greatness and creative power and loving care. The gos pel is His spoken message. It must come from human lips for human ears to hear. It is the story of the Saviour—His life, His death, and His resurrection. It is a message to be believed by those who hear. Therefore, someone must take it. Each Christian should be a missionary and should be working at this blessed ministry of telling the story to others. The People Need Us to Come. Phil. 2:15 The unsaved sit in darkness. They “sit” because they do not know what to do about the darkness. Great foundations are established; large plans are made; extensive programs are inaugurated to bring men into the light of life. All have failed and will fail. We must tell them It has been said that “ the church goes forward on two legs, go and give.” Some who are wise go; others who are just as wise stay at home and earn the money to pay the bills of those who go. The Lord records the story that Peter “went for Him.” He also records that Zacchaeus “ gave for Him.” The one is as important as the other. The gifts cannot be used unless someone goes. Workers cannot go unless someone gives. The Lord en able us to take advantage of both priv ileges. You May Go. 2 Cor. 8:5 The word “ go” may mean to your next door neighbor or to someone in the hospital or to the home of the banker. It may mean to the mountains of Mexico or to the woods of Canada or to the wilderness of Brazil. God must define it in your case and direct your path. Our privilege is to lay ourselves at the dis posal of the Holy Spirit without reser vation and let Him decide the going for us. He will do that which will be for the glory of God and our eternal good.
