WOMAN INJURED ON 417 Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has taken over an investigation of an incident that sent a woman to the hospital after a traffic stop on Highway 417. At approximately 6:30 p.m. on Friday April 12, the OPP responded to a traffic complaint on the 417 in East Hawkesbury. Rappel Le 8 mars dernier, la Municipalité régionale de comté (MRC) d’Argenteuil et la municipalité de Grenville-sur-la-Rouge (GSLR) avaient adressé conjointement une lettre au gouvernement du Québec, demandant au premier ministre François Legault d’intervenir dans le dossier pour mettre fin au processus de vente d’Hydro- Québec. Après cette demande, GSLR a tenu, le 4 avril, une consultation publique pour pouvoir effectuer un changement de zonage dans le secteur visé. Hydro-Québec voit dans cette démarche une manoeuvre pour l’empêcher de vendre ses terrains excédentaires. Le dimanche 7 avril, Grenville- sur-la-Rouge a publié un communiqué de presse pour rappeler notamment qu’elle attendait toujours la réponse du premier ministre. Le 12 avril, la MRC a déclaré être désormais « l’interlocuteur privilégié » et a insisté pour faire savoir qu’elle n’endosse pas les propos tenus par le maire de GSLR et qui ont été rapportés par un journal local.
