STUDENT PROGRESSION
MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRESSION (Years 7-9)
For students to gain automatic progression from one-year level to the next, it is required that they demonstrate the following: • completion of all Common Assessment Tasks (CAT) across ALL subjects in a student’s Learning Program. • Attitudes to Learning are at or above ‘Satisfactory’ for each subject. • Students are expected to attend The Lakes South Morang College during normal College hours every day of each Term (absences to be explained by the parent/carer and/or approved by Principal class).
PROGRESSION INTO SENIOR SCHOOL (Years 10-12)
For students to gain automatic progression from Year 10-11, and Year 11-12, it is required that they demonstrate the following: • completion of all Common Assessment Tasks (CAT) School-assessed Coursework (SAC), and School-assessed Tasks (SAT) across ALL subjects in a student’s Learning Program. • Attitudes to Learning are at or above ‘Satisfactory’ for each subject. • meet the pre-requisites of the subject/s • a minimum of 90% attendance (absences to be explained by the parent/carer and approved by Principal class). Students will only be retained at their current year level in exceptional circumstances where the student has not fulfilled the pre-requisites for the next year level or there are personal issues relating to the progression. Students will not be retained without the consent of parents/carers.
Early-entry VCE or VET
For students to gain early-entry to a VCE or VET subject, they must show exemplary learning behaviours, results and complete an application process referring to previous academic performance and an interview.
