JOSEPH By Lorna Gibson, Age 6 (Vermont) Once there was a man who had a father, ten half-brothers and one own brother. His ten half-brothers sold him to some Ishmaelites and they, in turn, sold him to Potiphar in Egypt. The king had a dream and wanted to know what it meant and none of his wisei men could tell him. He called up Joseph to tell him his dream and he could, because the Lord was with him. The dream meant that there would he seven good years and seven years of famine and Joseph said they ought to save food. Pharaoh made “him the next to the greatest ruler of the country. Pretty soon after the famine began his ten half-brothers came down to Egypt to buy corn. JOSEPH, A TYPE OF CHRIST By Harry Gerig, Age 13 (Indiana) Joseph was the beloved son of his father when he was home, clothed in a beautiful robe, as Jesus was the be loved Son of God. His mission was to seek the welfare of his brethren and (1) New Year’s card. (2) Gospel of John. Statement to Sign S T O R IE S T O L D B Y “ G A R D E N E R S ”
