RACEHORSE RETIREMENT WHAT’S NEXT?

Make sure you or the Managing Owner of the horse has notified Racing Australia via their retirement form or stable return. Once your horse has retired from racing, there are many options of second careers from leisure and trail riding to eventing, dressage, showing and polo. For more information, contact your local acknowledged re-trainer or visit racingvictoria.com.au/offthetrack If you do not have your own re-homing program you can email offthetrack@racingvictoria.net.au or contact one of Racing Victoria’s Acknowledged Re-trainers directly who will be able to provide you with advice in relation to next steps. Be ready to share details including the age, sex, racing experience, location and photos of your retiring horse. You and your owners can stay in touch to follow your retiring horse in their second career which can be just as rewarding as their first!
