Emma Bartlett from CM Murray LLP provided an overview of the proposed Employment Rights Bill and its potential implications for payroll and HR teams. Jeni Morris and Jo Marshall delivered practical guidance on National Minimum Wage and holiday pay compliance, with particular reference to enforcement activity and the implications of the forthcoming Fair Work Agency.
Both talks reinforced the need for organisations to maintain accurate processes, clear documentation and a strong understanding of evolving obligations. In a particularly dynamic presentation (with prizes!) Ger Adlum from Payslip and Sharon Tayfield from BDO examined the challenges of global payroll reporting, particularly the difficulty of consolidating and standardising data across multiple jurisdictions. The discussion reminded us that while organisations often hold significant volumes of payroll data, turning that information into consistent, actionable insight remains a challenge. Visibility, alignment and structured processes were identified as essential components in building a more coherent global view.
