As we joyfully celebrate our incredible 20-year mark in ministry, we’re overflowing with gratitude to God for leading us here. Thanks to your unwavering dedication to spreading Jesus’ love, over 290 million worldwide have chosen to follow Christ. God granted our founder, Walt Wilson, an incredible vision for the Internet as the modern-day digital vehicle to take the Gospel worldwide. Initially met with skepticism, Walt’s vision has since rallied thousands of volunteers and donors. As a result, Global Media Outreach doubled its original goal by sharing the Gospel over 2 billion times by 2020—only possible through God’s provision and your support.

FROM OUR HEARTS TO YOURS

3

At an event where Walt shared his vision for Global Media Outreach for the first time, businessman Lee Martin recalls, “Walt stands up and says, ‘Gentlemen, I’m going to present the Gospel message 1 billion times on the Internet by 2020.’ You could have heard a pin drop. The people in the room were too respectful to roll their eyes, but they thought he was crazy. They thought he was nuts. My response in my heart and my spirit was, ‘This guy’s either crazy or the Lord has to do this.’” Through each milestone, it has been you, our supporters, prayer warriors and volunteers, working together to fulfill the great commission. We could not have reached any goals without your faithful support. We appreciate each of you and cannot wait to see what God is going to accomplish in the coming years.

With your help, we remain fully committed to leveraging technology so that all people can come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and grow in a personal relationship with Him. Please join us in commemorating this Gospel legacy as we celebrate 20 years of sharing the salvation message of Jesus globally online.

OUR DRIVING QUESTION “What if we can reach 1 billion people with the Gospel by 2020?”

13

Online Missionaries responded to more than 2 million new contacts. At the same time, over 24 million indicated decisions for Jesus, and over 174 million people saw a Gospel presentation through one of our 150 websites. GMO begins running ads on Facebook, revolutionizing Gospel outreach.

2012

14

We have been involved with GMO since 2012. That year, we chose to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary on June 2, 2012, by making our first significant gift to the ministry with the objective of reaching a million folks with the Gospel in a 24-hour period. The Lord blessed that decision with over 1 million Gospel presentations and 168,901 decisions for Christ. Over the years, GMO has become one of the top five charities we support financially. We have continued to support the ministry because we love the mission of reaching the world with the Gospel through leveraging technology using Internet ads and ubiquitous cell phones. We also enjoy being able to participate in the annual inspirational and fun partner gatherings as a couple.

A JOURNEY FROM NONBELIEVER TO ONLINE MISSIONARY A story about Liz Lee

I was in a very dark place in 2007. I had everything I could possibly want: a great husband, a wonderful child, a great job, and great friends. However, I was very discontented with life. I wanted to divorce my husband for someone more fun as I had only one life to live, and he was not meeting my needs. I was always looking for happiness and making checklists of things to make me happy. I Googled ‘happiness,’ and this Global Media Outreach website kept coming up. I said, ‘Christianity … been there, done that, doesn’t work,’ ... but it kept popping up. So, one day, I clicked on it and said the sinner’s prayer. I am a sinner, and Jesus is my Savior. What did I have to lose? It said my life would never be the same. The moment I said the prayer on December 1, 2007, I felt the Holy Spirit descend on me, and He changed me from the inside out. I wanted to go to church all the time and read the Bible all the time. I saw my sin and depravity (I thought I was a good person before), I stopped cursing (I

used to curse like a sailor and tried to stop but couldn’t), and I just became so sensitive to God. I thought about Him all the time and talked to Him. I looked forward to my 30-day walk with God and read it faithfully. I continued to walk with the Lord, and a few years later, I felt like I was not as close to Him as I wanted to be and looked up the GMO website again. I signed up for the 30-Day Guide on GodLife. I hadn’t thought about GMO much until I was on a mission trip recently and heard a friend talking about GMO. I mentioned that I thought that was the website that had brought me to the Lord and looked it up. Sure enough, it was! She just happened to be friends with a GMO employee in Houston, and I got an opportunity to meet him and encourage him. She also told me about ways to serve as an Online Missionary. So here I am giving back to others through GMO as an Online Missionary as it has been used as a platform to change my life radically.
