IN THE SPOTLIGHT AUNDREA TREVORS CERTIFIED AESTHETIC NURSE SPECIALIST & OWNER OF AUNDREA NURSE INC.

by Lee Ann Atwater I f you know Aundrea, then you know her dedi- cation for non-surgical medical aesthetics. Her passion for this new field of medicine is driven from seeing her clients, both men and women, achieve the natural and youthful appearance they desire through cosmetic injectables and the impact it has on increasing their self-confidence. Spotlight on Business Magazine caught up, which is not easy to do, with this energetic entrepre- neur in between her travels between Halifax and Truro to learn more about the person behind Aundrea Nurse Inc.

I have been extremely fortunate to learn from and trained with some of the top plastic surgeons and nurses from all over the world which has given me the experience needed to be at the top of my field, but my learning journey is not over as I am currently doing my Masters degree in Nursing at Athabasca University. What made you want to become an entrepreneur and start your own business?

SPOTLIGHT ON BUSINESS: Tell us a little about yourself, your hobbies, what you like to do in your spare time when you are not helping clients increase their self-confidence. AT: In my spare time, I love to run! I have been running for over 20 years and it’s a great stress reliever for me. I also love to hang out with my sweet husband along with my dogs and cats. My extended family is in New Brunswick, which fortunately is within the “Atlantic Bubble” so I try to get there as often as possible to see them. Tell us how you became interested in non-surgical medical aesthetics and your journey to where you are today? AT: I have always had a strong desire to help others and to strive to make a difference in peoples’ lives. So once leaving high school I obtained a psychology degree from St.Thomas University then continued my education and went on to receive my Advanced Standing Bachelor of Nursing degree from the University of New Brunswick. After graduating from UNB, I began my career as a cardiac and mental health nurse before being introduced to the cosmetic side of medicine and immediately knew it was my calling. I have been nursing for ten years, of which nine and a half of those years, I have been a Cosmetic Aesthetic Nurse Specialist.

AT: I’ve always wanted to be my own boss and have my own freedom, make my own choices. I am not exactly where I want to be yet with my business and career, but I do feel like I am headed in the right direction.
