RSM APPOINTS HEAD OF PAYROLL OUTSOURCING RSM, THE audit, tax and consulting firm, has appointed Michael McAllister as its new regional head of payroll outsourcing in Scotland and Northern Ireland. In the newly-created role, McAllister will lead RSM’s payroll services offering at RSM’s Grangemouth and Belfast offices – supporting the wider practice of seven payroll centres across the UK. With more than a decade’s experience, including building a team at Mazars, Glasgow, and working at accountancy firms Scott Moncrieff and Tenon as a UK payroll specialist, McAllister will work with Steve Sweetlove, RSM’s UK partner for payroll and human resources (HR) services, leading a team of thirty. Sweetlove said: “We continue to invest on our HR and outsourcing offering to ensure we offer something different, and effective, for our clients. We are ambitious, and plan to enhance our payroll offering to strengthen our capability to support middle market business across the UK with bespoke, flexible services to suit the needs of each organisation.” McAllister, who is looking forward to delivering on those aims in Scotland and Northern Ireland, commented that “I’m passionate about what RSM is trying to achieve and this is a great opportunity to join a growing firm with exciting plans.”

MAZARS STRENGTHENS NATIONAL PAYROLL BUSINESS MAZARS, THE international accountancy and advisory firm, has appointed Selina Reid as national training and development manager for its payroll team, effective 1 May 2019. Based in Glasgow, home to Mazars’ largest payroll delivery team, Selina will be responsible for the training and development of the teams across all five UK locations: Glasgow, Liverpool, Birmingham, Milton Keynes and London. Her role will include the further development of Mazars payroll academy, an ongoing programme designed to deliver best in class technical and payroll-focused soft skills training to all team members. Selina joins the national payroll leadership team, a group created in response to the growing demands of a business which has seen 25% organic revenue growth in 2018–19 and registered nineteen straight years of revenue and profitability growth. The growing team, currently numbering fifty professionals, works with business of all sizes across the UK. Selina’s previous posts since 2000 have been in payroll, and most recently as payroll operations manager for activpayroll, Edinburgh.

Previously John worked for Zellis as an application consultant. l Dominik Jablonski has started a new position, as EMEA payroll specialist – HR Shared Services, at OpenText. Dominik’s previous role was group payroll/HR officer for IHG.
