further education pathway
This pathway has been designed for students who are planning to go on to Further Education. Students take part in sessions on personal development whilst experiencing vocational tasters . The aim is to build confidence and independence as well as helping students to decide which vocational pathway would suit them best. E2 N5527 Students develop their personal and social skills through the completion of a number of units including Planning for Progression, Effective Communication, Introduction to ICT and Working as Part of a Team. Students also take part in vocational tasters within the Foundation Learning Department in areas such as Construction, Animal Care, Catering and Horticulture. E3 N5416 Still within the Foundation Learning Department, through the completion of units in Business Administration and Digital Technology, Animal Care, Building and Construction, Creative Arts & Design, Horticulture, Catering, and students continue to develop their vocational skills . L1 N5530 At Level 1, as transition to Further Education, students spend one day per week in the main college completing tasters with vocational staff. Students switch vocational area mid year and experience what it is like to study in a variety of curriculum areas : Art & Design, Media & Music Technology, Performing Arts, Construction, Computing, Animal Care, Catering, Sport and Travel & Tourism Personal development is delivered through the Prince’s Trust Achieve Curriculum.
