 supported internship

This study programme is aimed at young people who have travelled along our employment pathway, have a statement of Special Educational Needs or an Education, Health and Care Plan, and continue to need support to move into employment . Interns are placed with a host employer for up to four days per week, preparing them for sustainable paid employment by further developing the personal and professional skills needed for working life. Internships are unpaid and can last for the full academic year, although some students enter full-time employment sooner. Wherever possible, the intern graduates into paid employment at the end of programme. Students are supported by Job Coaches in the workplace. Alongside the work placement , the interns continue to develop their maths and English skills as well as reflecting on their week at work, setting targets for the future.
