winners. It is not great “ drives” , campaigns or world movements that Jesus is waiting on. The primary thing is a heart burden for the lost on the part of God’s people—a burden so great that one is not even ashamed to weep over the souls of those who are perishing. Come, let us look at a soul winner. Jesus was content to deal with men outside the formal gatherings of the synagog. He demanded no tabernacle, no committees, no organized choir, no brass band, no advance advertising or financial guarantee. He won the one next to Him wherever it happened to be. Out of forty specific cases in the Gospels, only six came to Jesus on their own feet. Either Jesus went to them or someone else brought them to Him. If we would take lessons in evangelistic methods, is there any better school than the school of Christ? It is said that seventy per cent of the trade in the United States is brought about through personal salesmanship. This is just the idea Jesus tried to introduce into the church, for he said, “ Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Nowadays men are talking about saving society whole­ sale, and we are getting nowhere.
