EXECUTIVE DIRECTORS ADVANCEMENTS NEW

Kristian & Kristin Hoenicke HAWAII Melaleuca Makes Life Simple

Kristian immediately got to work enrolling new customers and learning more about the business side of Melaleuca. He quickly learned that building a business works best when you keep things simple. Do the Seven Critical Business-Building Activities and enroll Preferred Members, and everything will fall into place. Though the Hoenickes have been with Melaleuca much longer than most of their team, they help everyone understand that you don’t have to be a Melaleuca expert to be successful. “I get questions all the time, and I think people assume that because we’ve been here so long, I will know,” Kristian says. “But I say ‘I don’t know’ all the time. I’m glad I can lean on the resources that are in place at Melaleuca. The customer service here is so amazing. Business Development is so amazing. And the Product Information line is amazing.” Working together, the Hoenickes were able to simplify and let go of some of their other business pursuits as their Melaleuca business grew. With the newfound freedom from their Melaleuca business and the fact that Kristin homeschools their two sons, the Hoenickes were able to spend ten months traveling in Europe and Asia. After their travels, they decided to settle in Hawaii so they could spend more time in nature. “I talk about peace of mind in simplicity all the time now because before we focused on Melaleuca, life was anything but simple or peaceful,” Kristian says. “Many of my business-owner friends live with a lot of stress. There’s a lot of moving parts. There’s liability, there’s logistics, and there are headaches— never-ending headaches. I love that Melaleuca is simple, dependable, predictable—that’s what we all want.”

Eleven years ago, Kristin and Kristian Hoenicke were looking for safer cleaning products to use around their young children. They were frustrated with their search until Executive Director 4 Kent Wonnell introduced them to Melaleuca. They enrolled, ordered the Home Conversion Pack, and immediately fell in love with Melaleuca products. They couldn’t wait to share them with others and soon enrolled several of their friends and family. Kristian—a self-described serial entrepreneur—struggled to stay focused on their Melaleuca business. Eventually, the Hoenickes turned their attention to other business opportunities. For years, they were content to just be Melaleuca shoppers. But in 2016, Kent encouraged them to consider building their Melaleuca business again. “I had become very tired of traditional entrepreneurial pursuits and the roller coaster that comes with them,” Kristian says. “I was talking to Kent, and he showed me one of the latest revenue charts from the company, and I just about fell out of my chair. We’ve always liked Melaleuca, but I thought that it was slow and small. I had a hard time imagining taking the business side of it seriously until I saw that revenue graph.”

“We had been chasing shiny new objects,” Kristin says. “But Melaleuca has always been constant and always been available to us. We’ve stopped being attracted to empty promises of success and have just focused on Melaleuca. We are done chasing other things.”
