lorsque les enfants étaient plus jeunes, elle et son époux ont toujours été très engagés au sein des organismes paroissiaux et sportifs. « On s’est impliqué pour connaître les gens et pour être là où étaient les enfants. On a animé le cours de préparation au mariage à la paroisse pendant 16 ans, on a été avec les scouts, et toutes sortes de choses. On voulait montrer aux enfants qu’on peut recevoir mais qu’il faut aussi donner. » Aujourd’hui, ces enfants sont bien installés. Jean-Pierre est ingénieur électrique et habite à San Francisco. Manon termine sa maîtrise en biochimie en Allemagne et pour- suivra son doctorat à Oxford en Angleterre l’an prochain. Le cadet, Patrick, vit de sa musique à Boston au sein d’ensembles de jazz. « Je suis très fière de mes enfants et contente de les voir se développer, d’être pas- sionnés et de vivre leur passion. » Pour sa part, Martine Nolin-Simard envisage peut- être de ralentir un peu pour voyager et visiter ses enfants. « J’aime voyager. J’aime la nature aussi et j’aime beaucoup être chez moi pour faire mon jardinage. » Outre ses plantes, cette femme a certainement bien su cultiver ses ambitions. MARTINE NOLIN-SIMARD (SUITE)
