Again she went out searching for him, calling him, for the rain had ceased. She hoped again st hope th a t she m ight h ear his voice again. The men hunted all day for traces of his body, hoping it m ight be washed ashore, bu t no trace was found. When morning came Myrtle Morehouse, was ill w ith a raging fever, and all feared for h er life because of her exposure.
