Paranormal, freedom, balloons VANKLEEK HILL | A wide range of topics will be tackled during the 2014 Speaker Series that will be held Saturdays from January 18 through April 12 at Arbor Gallery in Vankleek Hill. The “Interesting Talks with Interesting People,” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. at the gallery at 36 Home Ave. ‘‘Our 18th year of programming covers a wide spectrum, from the paranormal to the daily triumph over personal challenges,’’ said coordinator Phil Arber. ‘‘People are very inter- ested in alternative health practices. Our 2014 program includes talks on Osteopathy, food sensitivity and the power of the mind over body.” A documentary, Seeds of Freedom, raises questions about food and food safety, especially concerning genetic modification. With the subject of the ‘‘right to die’’ very much in today’s news, there will be a discussion on euthanasia. As well, the ongoing work of the Aboriginal Truth and Reconciliation Commis- sion, dealing with the stories of the aboriginal school system will be discussed by a com- mission member. The adventures of hot air ballooning, new ideas on cataloguing your life on Earth, personal stories of triumph over disease, how to enjoy modern technology – all of these subjects will be open for discussion. At the CSSS d’Argenteuil in Lachute, on December 31, 2013, at the age of 84. Beloved husband of the late Marjory MacCulloch, predeceased by his sister Lillian, loving brother of Frances. He also leaved behind his dear friend Joan MacCulloch, nephews and nieces, and many friends. A private service will take place at a later date.
