courses, Vol. 2, pp. 80-81, 210). By such poisonous and slander ous teaching the deity and sinless ness of our Saviour are denied. If Mormonism were true, Christ would have needed a Saviour Himself! Brigham Young added his lie: “When the virgin Mary conceived the child Jesus, the Father had begotten Him . . . in the flesh by the same character that was in the Garden of Eden and who is our Father in Heaven” (Vol. 1, pp. 50-51, Journal of Discourses.) There is no resemblance in Mor monism to the Saviour who is de scribed in the Word o f God as “holy, harmless, undefiled, sep arate from s inn e rs and made higher than the heavens” (Heb. 7 :26). There is no salvation in Mormonism for they have no knowledge of a divine Saviour. Mormon theologian Parley P. Pratt called the Holy Spirit: “A divine substance or fluid, called the Holy Spirit” (Key to Theol ogy, 5th Ed., p. 38). As for His being a person, the arrogant Or son Pratt stated: “ The Lord has never given me any revelation upon the subject, and consequent ly I cannot make up my mind one way or the other” (Journal of Discourses, Vol. 2). In The Mormon Priesthood the following directions for securing the Holy Spirit’s power are giv en : “ There is a set mode by which this great gift is conferred upon mankind . . . the laying on of hands by men who have them selves received it, and have been called of God, and ordained to ad minister it.” Thus the Person of the Holy Spirit is reduced to the status of that o f a non-person and every thing that the Bible has revealed of His personality, power and holiness is denied. its deification of sex. In the realm o f love and marriage, the cult teaching is corrupt beyond de scription, from the Founding Fa thers to the present time. The revelations of Joseph Smith, cor roborated by Brigham Young, dared to claim that God was glori fied by plural marriage and that a Mormon’s status in heaven was enhanced as his harem increased. In the Articles o f Faith, this
view is plainly stated: “ In the case o f men marrying a wife in the everlasting covenant who dies while he continues in the flesh and marries another by the same di vine law, each wife will come forth in her order and enter with him into his glory . . . They all be come one in the patriarchal order of family government. . . If there were no law o f the land against it Continued, on page 35
