IX. TENURE Tenure is granted in recognition that the faculty member has fulfilled, the qualities of a scholar and has demonstrated sustained excellence in teaching/mentoring, research, and/or patient care, as well as service activities. Tenure implies a long-term commitment by the department, college or university to the qualified individual and requires the continuing dedication of the tenured faculty member to his/her discipline, department, the college and the university.
