“They have a small hidden lake as well, which was nice,” she said, explaining that their guests played outdoor games by the barn, outside the bar in the lower level. There was a cocktail hour, with canapés, followed by dinner upstairs. The dancefloor was set up in the basement of the barn by the bar, allowing for people to grab a drink, dance, and hang out outside by the firepits. “Krystal and Ryan were so great to work with,” she said, adding that the owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating through the entire process. “It felt like we were working with friends.” Hartley, who lives in Rockwood, is the owner of Labode, a custom woodworking and artwork business. She made her own centrepieces, easels and décor for the event. Now, she is offering not just custom, hand-made décor, but event planning services too. “All of our guests were just blown away by the experience of it,” she said. “It really was a unique experience.”
