Upon the completion of this issue, Mr. Amburgey’s creative writing class makes Let’s Talk Trash! news a hit! I cannot thank these smart kids enough as they have made a real difference with their creative input. As we ended the first semester, we enjoyed celebrating their accomplishments and look forward to much more to come in the next three issues of

this school year. I love these kids!

Bass Tennessee Cheatham BEGINS!

Bass structures will be arrive at your school January 10th by Clyde White and our current mayor, Kerry McCarver, along with the delivery of Let’s Talk Trash news’ January/February issue. It is now time to start gathering litter and disposable items to decorate! Bass structures will be delivered with complete instructions. Bass Structures will be due at the Courthouse by April 17th for a week long “Museum of Litter” public voting in the grand hallway. The public aution is currently scheduled for Tuesday, April 24th to begin at 5pm at the courthouse lawn. For information, please call 615-746-2443 or email: debbiekeenan@earthlink.net

The sculpture will be constructed out of wood and wood-like materials and will measure 4 feet wide by 51” tall. On this base sculpture, found litter items will be attached in any form or fashion to beautify and colorize. They can be painted or whatever else is desired to make a beautiful piece of art. It will be important to note that these sculptures will be displayed outdoors, so it must be reasonably weather resistant. This can be accomplished by using shellac, or other items that can withstand light rain.
