HCSO Celebrates S.W.A.T. Graduates, Making History with First Woman in the Ranks
Henry County Sheriff’s Office proudly honors the recent graduates of Special Weapons and Tactical (S.W.A.T.) School. Congratulations to Deputy Karnisha Watts and Investigator Thomas Gowdy , who completed an intensive week of training, equipping them to tackle the most challenging public safety scenarios. Deputy Watts and Investigator Gowdy now proudly join the ranks of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office S.W.A.T. team. Sheriff Reginald B. Scandrett extended his heartfelt congratulations, acknowledging the extraordinary dedication and hard work of these two exceptional team members. Major David Cody, Commander of the Special Investigations unit at Henry County Sheriff's Office, expressed his optimism for the future of their S.W.A.T. team and the entire HCSO, stating, "We have an incredible unit, and continue to add to it. We look forward to growth, more talent, better tools, and an overall greater agency. The future is bright!" This is also a historical moment for HCSO. We offer a huge congratulations to Deputy Karnisha Watts on becoming the FIRST female S.W.A.T. team member at HCSO. This trailblazing achievement sets new standards for the unit and agency overall.
