September started off with a bang in Fort Worth and we were thrilled to sponsor three attendees with scholarships to NADOA’s Institute. Our winners were Britney Voelkel, Stephanie Moore and Barbara Bowman. We are looking forward to the 2020 Institute in Shreveport, LA and hope to provide more scholarship opportunities for our members. We have two more luncheons remaining for the year, in October and December. We will be joined by Steven Hager, owner of Data Wizard, on October 16. He will offer insight into interpreting oil and gas acquisition data and how to best fit the data into your company’s systems. For those who suffer a constant battle with Excel, he will offer tips and strategies on how to process data in more efficient ways. Our holiday luncheon will be held December 3 at the Aquarium in downtown Houston. HADOA will be supporting a great local charity, HeadStrong Brain Injury Foundation. Established by former Division Order Analyst, Lauren Bernard, this organization does many great things to support the families and patients battling traumatic brain injury. We hope you can join us to support this wonderful cause. We also have an upcoming volunteer opportunity at the Houston Food Bank on Saturday, November 16 from 8AM to noon. There are a total of 20 slots available — 15 adult and 5 youth (ages 6-14). HADOA will be sponsoring lunch after our shift, so be sure to register before it’s too late! Events in the works for 2020 should be amazing. From May 6 to July 15, Yoli Bazan will be hosting a 10-week CDOA study group at Hilcorp, taking place every Wednesday night from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. Heather Lister has a great roster of speakers and social events, all of which are detailed in our 4th Quarter Newsletter, so be sure to mark your calendars!
