“the more confirmed i am in my faith and religion. I have been in public life fifty-eight years, and forty-seven in the cabinet of the British government; and during those forty-seven years, I have been associated with sixty of the master minds of the country, and all but five of the sixty were Christians,” Other Great Souls Have Witnessed To Paul’s Christ George Washington, the first president of the United States, said we should do justice, love mercy, demean ourselves with charity, humility, and pacific temp er of mind, which were the characteris tics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion; without a humble recognition of whose example, in these things, we can never hope to be a happy nation. Benjamin Franklin said, “As to Jesus of Nazareth, my opinion of whom you particularly desire, I think the system of morals and religion, as He left it to us, is the best the world ever saw, or is likely to see.” John Quincy Adams, the sixth presi dent o'f the United States, said, “Jesus. Christ came into the world to preach repentance and remission of sins, to pro claim glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will to man; and finally, to bring life and immortality to light, in the gospel; and all this is clear, if we consider the Bible as a divine re velation.” Frances E. Willard said, “I am safe with Him; He has other worlds and I want to go. I have always believed in Christ. He is the incarnate God—how beautiful it is to be with God.” William McKinley, the twenty-fourth president of the United States said, “My belief embraces the Divinity of Christ, and a recognition of Christianity as the mightiest factor of the world’s civiliza tion.” Golden Text Illustration An aged sailor, who had long known the Lord, when in his dying illness was visited by the pastor, who asked, “My

Bible Illustrations Mark 5:1-20, a delivered demoniac witnessed for Christ. In Acts 4:13- 22, Peter and John were bold in proclaiming Christ. In Acts 13:3-13 Paul is seen with Barnabas. In 1 iim . 3:16 is seen the greatest description of Christ ever penned by mortal man and this is Paul’s view of Christ under the inspir ation of the Spirit of God. Paul Did Not Proclaim His Pet Theory A student went to his professor of theology, and asked him how long, it took him to understand the Atonement. He answered, “All my life.” Thinking perhaps there might be some mistake, the young man went to another profes sor, who taught this very doctrine in his class. “How long did it take you,” he asked,- “to understand the Atonement?” The professor thought a moment, and looked him in the face. “Eternity,” he said, “Eternity, and I shall not under stand it then.” Paul proclaimed Christ and not a theory. A Giant Mind Witnessing for Christ A greater mind than Paul’s never wit nessed for Christ. He outshines them all. “The older I grow,” said William E. Gladstone, England’s great statesman,-
