Graphics Installation
•Floor graphics should be applied by experienced fitters and/or in conjunction with these application guidelines. •Most self-adhesive floor coverings need to be applied at a temperature between 10- 25˚C, in order to get the optimal performance from the adhesive. •Ensure the surface is clean, free of dust and contamination prior to installing the graphic. •Always use a felt edge squeegee to prevent any damage to the graphic. When applying the graphic to the floor, it’s important to apply consistent pressure to your squeegee across the media, to avoid any potential stretch and alignment issues. •For smaller graphics, dry apply these, starting at the centre of the graphic, and work ing your squeegee strokes out towards the edges of the media, until the media is fully applied to the floor. Ensure all edges and corners are completely attached. •For larger applications, you may want to wet apply the graphic. (INDOOR APPLICATION ONLY. EXTERNAL APPLICATIONS MUST BE FITTED BONE DRY) Peel away the release liner from the graphic, and spray a small amount of clean water on to the adhesive. Position the graphic on to the floor as required. Squeegee out the water and any trapped air, starting at the centre of the graphic, and working your squeegee strokes out to wards the edges of the media. Ensure the media is fully applied to the floor and all edges and corners are completely attached. •For very large applications, where multiple sections are needed to make up the graphic, ensure all edges are butt joined. Do not overlap. It’s best to assume that all polyester and PVC based print media will experience shrinking over time, to a greater or lesser extent, so be mindful of this, as the butt joins will eventually separate to leave gaps in the graphic. •Where a 2 part vinyl & laminate are used, we recommend that the overlaminate overlaps the vinyl base, generally by around 15-20mm the whole way round. This is not essential, but it gives a more gradual edge thickness, reduces scuffing of the edges, and giving better overall edge adhesion. •The floor graphic should be left to cure for 24 hours prior to cleaning, waxing or polishing the floor.
