A Collector ' s Story
Recently, Club Member Sarah B., her fiancé Drew, and her five-year old daughter Olivia, made a special visit to the Precious Moments Chapel in Carthage, MO. Years ago, Sarah had made the trip with her grandmother, and now that her daughter was old enough, she wanted Olivia to experience it as well. Olivia loved it just as much as Sarah knew she would. Her favorite part was exploring the Gift Shoppe, where Sarah allowed her to choose a figurine. “She picked out a Care Bears™ figurine. She really likes that one, but her favorite figurine is last year’s Club Symbol of Membership Life’s Always Greener With You By My Side. She keeps it on her nightstand!” Sarah explained. The love of Precious Moments has certainly come full circle. Sarah was influenced by her grandmother’s love of the collection and even had Precious Moments bedding and curtains as a child. Now she sees the excitement in her own daughter’s eyes. We asked Sarah why she thinks Precious Moments is just as appealing now as it was when she was a child, regardless of age. She thinks it’s partly because they are just so cute! But also, “Each figurine takes you back to a memory or a significant time in your life. That’s why they are meaningful to me – they’re about making memories,” she said. It’s always exciting when we hear about a new fan of Precious Moments. Sarah and Olivia loved everything about their visit to the Chapel and hope to visit again this Winter to see the lights and hear the carolers during the Choirs of Christmas event. We are glad to have them and you as part of our Precious Moments family!
