DEVELOPMENT OFFICE 2016 Annual Appeal
The 2016 Annual Appeal is underway. In 2015, we received 176 donations (2% of the potential donor community) amounting to $122,186. These funds allow College to enable many additional projects and programmes that donors, the school, and teachers have selected to enhance the learning environment for the boys. This year, we have posted out the appeal letter to over 9,000 members of the Christ’s College community all around the world.
EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS AND PROGRAMMES INCLUDE:
• Purchasing a new digital Cinematic Camera for film production work by students and College • Supporting boys working with Canterbury University to build kitset rockets for research and study • Purchasing a physical theatre dance programme for boys to build self-confidence in a mixed male/ female environment • Purchasing a 4m x 3m multi- purpose digital display screen for display and promotion
The Development Team would like to think that the value of what the appeal achieves, as shown by the items mentioned, is the catalyst that may encourage more friends of College to consider a donation this year. An increase in the number of donors to the appeal is just as highly valued as the incredible generosity of our existing participants. • Transforming a previous dark room into a new digital photographic studio • Providing a new sports body alignment machine used by coaches to support safety and technique in sport • A project to repair the finials on the Dining Hall roof following earthquake damage
