ITALIAN FAMILY FESTA 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Aug. 25–26 History Park, San Jose
It’s the 38th annual Italian Family Festa in History Park! This two-day festival features a cooking stage, delicious Italian food offerings from California chefs, cultural activities, and an amazing wine selection. On Saturday night, there’s a street dance to the music of local band Long Train Runnin’, and the Grape Stomps play on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Organized by the Italian American Heritage Foundation, there’s something for the whole family at the Festa.

PRESIDIO SOCIAL CLUB BBQ BIERGARTEN FINALE Wednesday, Aug. 29, 3–7 p.m. Presidio National Park, San Francisco
When you’re looking for something more unique than your standard restaurant experience, head to San Pedro Square. Featuring a wide array of restaurants and vendors, you’ll find everything from Thai and Nepalese food to raw and vegan eateries. The historic square lights up on summer evenings and treats patrons to live music, a diverse offering of food, local beer and wine, and specialty desserts. Take your pick! Live music happens every Friday and Saturday night, when you can eat, drink, sit back, and enjoy the music.
Featuring “all the meats,” this is the last installment of the Club’s BBQ Biergarten series for the season and will likely be as lively — and tasty — as the rest. Past Biergarten events have featured pulled pork, St. Louis Ribs, and beef brisket, so you can expect to see some of these savory slow-cooked meats grace the table again, likely paired with a well-suited beverage.
