£16 MILLION PLANS FOR BUSINESS PARK Developers have announced plans for a major investment on a Cheltenham business park. The speculative £16m build will add 15 units totalling more than 100,000 sq ft to the 4.91-acre former Vibixa factory site on the Kingsditch Trading Estate. It is the first site purchased in a joint venture between property development company, Chancerygate and real estate investment firm, Hines. Richard Bains, Chancerygate managing director said: "Kingsditch in Cheltenham is a prime destination for retailers and their customers, which fully supports our development strategy" l

COLLEGE PRINCIPAL MAKES PLEA TO THE CHANCELLOR A principal of Gloucestershire's biggest college and one of the county's MPs have written to the Chancellor calling for more money for further education. Matthew Burgess, the principal of Gloucestershire College, accompanied Gloucester MP Richard Graham to deliver the letter personally to Philip Hammond on a visit to the county. Mr Graham said: "While Government policy has protected the incomes of schools and universities, colleges have been dealt an average funding cut of 30 per cent over the last 10 years. The Chancellor's departmental spending review is a chance to announce an above inflation increase which would boost skills, productivity and social mobility." Mr Hammond was in Gloucestershire opening the University of Gloucestershire's new Business School at its Oxstalls campus l Clark in 2013 and has in excess of 500 employees and partners based in Cheltenham, Worcester, Birningham, the Wye Valley, Thames Valley and now in the new premises in central London.
