T he local car clubs and rod runs are the back- bone of street rodding. Across this great nation (and all over the world), tens of thou- sands of rodders spend millions of hours putting together their local area club shows. The result is that in every nook and cranny of this country there are cool rod runs, many regional favorites offering their unique twist on the perfect week- end. One of the most scenic examples of these gatherings is the San Luis Roadsters Run in San Luis Obispo, California.
are essentially duplicates of each other. Gather up at the host hotel in the morning, take a ride through the idyllic San Luis Obispo countryside, cruise around checking out cool things along the way, (it’s a lot like the grownup version of dragging Main) and meander around until dinner when everybody gets back together to feast. I think you’ll see what I love about this run because it’s not a run where you just go to park, but a run where you get to drive your rod. Runs like this are popping up all over the country and if there isn’t one near you, start one. I’d love to see everybody on the road cruising in the machine of their dreams.
