JENNIFER HAIRDRESSING - LEVEL 3 DIPLOMA
Preston College was Jennifer’s first choice, allowing her to build on her success by progressing from Level 2 qualifications in hairdressing and barbering to the Level 3 Hairdressing Diploma. This has enabled her to further develop her technical expertise, build confidence, and work towards her career ambitions. Balancing her studies while running two businesses and raising three children, Jennifer has shown exceptional dedication and resilience. She has pushed herself further by entering competitions and skills events, securing third place at the AHT Blackpool competition, reaching the national finals, and being shortlisted as a finalist in the Rising Star category at the 2025 Preston College Student Awards. Jennifer plans to open her own salon specialising in curly and textured hair, with the long-term goal of launching a training academy.
“This course has helped me turn my passion into a clear career path.”
AARON CERTIFICATE IN EDUCATION (CertEd) - LEVEL 5 Aaron returned to Preston College after completing an apprenticeship earlier in his career, attracted by its strong reputation and supportive learning environment. During his course, he has developed key skills in lesson planning, curriculum design, and academic writing, which he now applies to running his two alternative provision centres in Blackpool and Preston. His studies have strengthened both his professional practice and confidence as a leader. Aaron values the opportunity to network with like-minded professionals and learn from their experiences, while approachable tutors and accessible facilities have ensured support is always available. Looking ahead, he plans to continue his studies, expand his centres nationally, and inspire his three daughters by showing how education can change lives.
“I’ve learned so much and built a foundation to make a real impact in my community.”
