WELDING
Welding plays a key role across Lancashire’s construction, engineering, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors, with strong demand for skilled workers. Employers seek individuals with the right technical skills, standards, and behaviours. At Preston College, courses are delivered in the iSTEM Centre, providing industry-standard facilities with dedicated welding bays and modern workshops. You’ll gain practical, job- ready skills through hands-on training, focusing on precision, technique, and safe working practices.
Our courses support clear progression into careers. Level 1 introduces core MIG, TIG, and MMA processes and entry into the sector, while Level 2 builds towards employment, apprenticeships, or further study. Intensive short courses offer a fast-track option to upskill. Designed for adults, delivery is designed around adult life, with evening and intensive options that allow students to balance learning with work and other commitments, while also supporting those developing welding skills for personal use.
