PALATA KAPODIFERO Za razliku od Galerije Borgeze, koja vrvi od turi- sta, ovo je skriveni dragulj u pravom smislu. Palata Kapodifero iz 15. veka nalazi se na istoimenom trgu u renesansnoj zoni Rima. Galerija dvojice kardina- la Spada čuva baroknu zbirku u izvornoj postavci iz 17. veka. Najuzbudljiviji doživljaj u ovoj palati je tako- zvano tajno dvorište sa izuzetnom iluzionističkom ko- lonadom drugog najvećeg arhitekte rimskog baroka, Frančeska Borominija (1653). The 15 th -century Palazzo Spada is located in Piazza Capo di Ferro, a square situated within Rome’s renaissance zone. The Spada Gallery of the two cardinals pre- serves a Baroque collection in an original setting from the 17 th century. The most exciting experience in this palace is the so- called secret courtyard, which has an extraordinary optical illu- sion of diminishing columns created by the second starchitect of baroque Rome, Francesco Borromini (1653). You will also see those parts of the palace where the descendants of the once internationally pow- erful Doria family still live today, in elegant and spacious apartments. With origins in Genoa, according to tradition the Doria family is de- scended from a knight who participated in the First Crusade and a beautiful noblewoman from Genoa. Their descendants ruled Genoa for centuries and commanded the navy, building political and busi- ness relations all over the world. The exceptional collection of paint- ings includes masterpieces by Raphael, Titian, Bernini, Caravaggio and Velázquez. Displayed works extend along the walls of the four wings of the palace, in an interior that includes luxurious mirrors, an- tique statues and antique furniture.
