RITAM GRADA RHYTHM OF THE CITY
VUČICA U KNEZ MILETINOJ
SHEWOLF AT KNEZ MILETINA 14
The work of one of Europe’s most promi- nent street artists, Spanish author Julieta XLF, is recognisable due to the fact that female gures occupy its central posi- tion. Alongside the heroines who embark on their own adventures, she also draws great inspiration from nature, and the message she sends through her works is an appeal for nature’s preservation. A lo- cal context is also important to Julieta. The strength of the female character is further underscored on her monumental mural at Knez Miletina 14 with the motif of a she-wolf. This important symbol of Slavic mythology, which depicts a wom- an in a symbiotic relationship, draws fur- ther attention to the fact that a human’s strength comes from a harmonious re- lationship with nature. Lastly, the heart held by Julieta’s little girl is actually a syn- onym for the love that emanates from her and a reminder that loving nature means loving humanity.
