B elgrade Philharmonic concerts at Kolarac not only keep classical mu- sic alive on the cultural map of the city, but also develop it, intrigu- ing new audiences and surprising old ones. The current season carries the title‘The Five Elements’and comprises a total of 25 con- certs in five thematic sections correspond- ing to the energy of water, fire, air, earth, with the fifth being the invisible element that permeates the universe. The whole sea- son was sold out months in advance, which prompted them to recently introduce stand- ing-only tickets. The New Year’s concerts are particularly popular, and present an ideal opportunity for the artists of the philhar- monic to experiment and try fusing their work with pop culture.
