Iv je rušio društvene norme i u privatnom i u poslovnom životu Yves obliterated social norms and standards in both his private and business life

ried out by none other than YSL. He raid- ed man’s wardrobe, seeking inspiration, which may today seem normal, but back then was absolutely unacceptable, both socially and culturally. He delivered wom- en a biker jacket in his very first collection. He continued boldly with a dinner jacket, then a tuxedo for women, as well as intro- duced the safari style, combinations, roll neck sweaters and bubble skirts. When we list everything, we simply must wonder what the average woman’s wardrobe would look like today if it wer- en’t for him. This fashion virtuoso master- fully fused ethnic costumes with cuts char- acteristic of haute-couture. He walked us through China, Japan, Russia, Spain, Mo- rocco ... He furtively observed workers and transposed their uniforms into combina- tions that remain unrivalled today. He in- troduced us to transparent sheer blouses in 1966, and then the military style. The exhib- its further remind us of the close connec- tion between his work and art. Picasso, Van Gogh and Mondrian all have their corner, as inexhaustible sources of inspiration. You will also discover that the strong colour- ing that was characteristic of his designs was inspired by a garden in Marrakesh. Thanks to his business and life partner Pierre Bergé, now we can all experience a little of the magic and take a close look at the designs that changed the fashion world forever. And all for just seven to 10 euros, which is how much tickets cost. The museum’s exhibits will reveal everything you didn’t know about Yves, and present the true size and scope of his opus. It’s no wonder he got his own museum. And not one, but two. Two weeks after the open- ing in Paris, a second museum dedicat- ed to YSL also opened in Marrakesh.
